As part of their commitment to the holistic development of young people, Adventist academies continued to promote education and physical development through a remarkable sports day.

On March 19, 2026, the athletic track in the municipality of Río Grande hosted the Field Day for Adventist academies at the middle and high school levels. The event brought together eight educational institutions, including Caguas, Metropolitana, Río Grande, Vega Baja, and Arecibo, and established itself as a space for fellowship, discipline, and healthy competition.

During the event, the mayor of Río Grande was present, interacting with the attendees and encouraging the youth to continue exercising and developing healthy habits that strengthen their overall well-being.

The spiritual component was also an essential part of the day. The devotional was led by ministry student Justin Rosa, who, drawing on 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, shared an inspiring message that motivated the young people to run the race of life with discipline, purpose, and unwavering faith in God.

The day included various athletic events such as 1200, 400, and 200-meter races, 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays, as well as shot put and long jump competitions. Each discipline allowed the students to demonstrate not only their physical abilities but also values such as perseverance, teamwork, and mutual respect.

One of the highlights of the event was the performance by the Andrews University gymnastics club, which captivated the audience with an impressive display and delivered a visual message of excellence, dedication, and discipline.

The activity was coordinated by a dedicated team of educators: César Rivera, Magdiela Morales, Israel Falcón, Ernesto Marín, Miguel Ortiz, Xiomairys Cruz, Jorge Martínez, Blanca, William, and Jean C. Morales, who ensured the smooth running of each competition.

In an atmosphere filled with energy and enthusiasm, the students proudly represented their institutions. Although the top three places in each category received awards, the overall points total determined the final results: the Caguas Regional Adventist Academy took first place, followed by the Metropolitan Academy in second, and the Vega Baja Adventist Academy in third.

Beyond the competition itself, this type of initiative reaffirms Adventist education's commitment to the holistic development of young people and fosters spaces that strengthen physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Activities like these continue to be an effective platform for inspiring new generations to live with purpose, discipline, and faith.
