Río Grande, Puerto Rico — Last Saturday, April 18, Camp Yuquibo celebrated its 50th anniversary, solidifying its position as a fundamental space for spiritual, community, and missionary development in the eastern region of Puerto Rico.

Located in the mountains of the municipality of Río Grande, within the natural environment of the El Yunque National Forest, this place has witnessed countless faith experiences that have transformed generations.

Since its founding in 1985, Yuquibo has hosted spiritual retreats, summer camps, and formative gatherings for children, teenagers, and young adults. In these spaces, hundreds of participants have found guidance, purpose, and a personal encounter with God, in an environment that blends natural beauty with spiritual growth.

During the commemorative ceremony, recognition was given to those who have led the camp over the years, including pastors Pedro López, Max Martínez, Pedro Acobes, and Ismael Pérez Maisonet. The significant contribution of Carmen Cardona, who dedicated more than 15 years to managing the camp, was also acknowledged, as was the dedication of other collaborators whose commitment has been vital to its development.

The administration of the East Adventist Association, along with the trust department, expressed its gratitude to every member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church who has contributed, directly or indirectly, to the growth of this ministry. They also invited members and friends of the community to continue supporting Yuquibo through volunteering, donations, participation in activities, and promoting its programs both within and outside the congregation. Beyond the infrastructure and activities, Yuquibo represents an active instrument of the church's mission: to bring hope, restoration, and the message of God's love to every person.

In a world defined by noise and haste, Camp Yuquibo remains a haven of peace, where the presence of God is experienced in a tangible and transformative way. Its history not only honors the past but also projects a future in which it will continue to be a center of service, discipleship, and gospel proclamation, fulfilling its mission to impact lives for generations. To strengthen this commitment, Yuquibo is preparing to launch new initiatives, including a youth leadership program, environmental education workshops, and retreats for families in the community. Additionally, the creation of ecological spaces and local mission outreach projects are planned.

With these initiatives, the camp reaffirms its purpose of adapting to current needs and remaining relevant to new generations, promoting the spiritual and personal development of all its participants.
