Living Prophecy for Decisive Times: Successful Spirit of Prophecy Symposium

With outstanding attendance and an atmosphere of profound biblical study, the Spirit of Prophecy Department of the East Seventh-day Adventist Conference successfully held the Spirit of Prophecy Symposium on Friday, February 27, and Saturday, February 28, at the Eliezer Meléndez Convention Center.

The event, led by Pastor Fernando Dávila Garriga, featured the special participation of Dr. Pedro Cortés, Ph.D., who presented a series of highly relevant and timely topics for the church in the contemporary context.

More than 280 people gathered to reflect on and delve deeper into fundamental issues related to divine revelation and the gift of prophecy. Among the topics presented were:

- Revelation

- Inspiration

- The Human Being Behind the Prophet

- Sunday Laws Around the World

Each presentation addressed theological and practical aspects that invite a clearer understanding of the prophetic message and its impact on the life of the church today.

The program also included special moments of praise, led by the Capsel Group and Joyce Ortiz, which contributed to creating an atmosphere of worship and spiritual reflection, complementing the presented content.

During the symposium, it was emphasized that, recognizing the prophetic identity of the church, each member is called to know, delve into, and proclaim relevant themes related to this belief. Scripture testifies that one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is the gift of prophecy, which constitutes an identifying mark of the remnant church.

Furthermore, the conviction was reaffirmed that this gift was manifested in the ministry of Ellen G. White, whose writings speak with prophetic authority and offer comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction to the church. It was also clearly emphasized that the Bible is the supreme standard by which all teaching and spiritual experience must be evaluated.

The symposium reaffirmed the commitment of the East Adventist Conference to biblical education, faithfulness to Scripture, and the spiritual strengthening of its members, in harmony with its prophetic identity and mission.
