The East Adventist Association Convention Center became a stage for worship and musical excellence last Saturday, March 28, as it hosted the Choir Festival of the Adventist academies of the Puerto Rico Union. The event began at 3:30 p.m. and brought together students and educators in an experience where music and faith intertwined in an extraordinary way.

Representative choirs from various Adventist educational institutions participated, including the Caguas Academy (elementary, intermediate/advanced, and mixed levels, under the direction of Professor José Carrera), the Río Grande Academy (elementary and advanced levels, directed by Professor Carmen Cardona), the Bella Vista Academy (elementary, advanced, and mixed levels, under the direction of Professor July Aranda), the Aguadilla Academy (intermediate/advanced level, directed by Professor Joel Quiñones), the Arecibo Academy (mixed choir, under the direction of Professor Nairoby Ávila), as well as the special participation of the Adventist University, directed by Professor Daniela Araya.

During the event, each choral group presented a carefully selected repertoire, characterized by its interpretive quality, musical sensitivity, and profound spiritual focus. The hymns, performed with discipline and precision, guided the audience into an atmosphere of reverence, lifting their hearts to the throne of grace.

The event stood out not only for its artistic merit but also for its educational and missionary purpose. On an afternoon filled with harmony and worship, the impact of Christian education on the holistic development of students was evident.

Professor Camile Ayala, director of the Adventist academies for the Puerto Rican Union, expressed in her closing remarks:
“What a beautiful afternoon we have enjoyed today. Seeing the vocal level of our choirs is a source of gratitude. This gathering has been more than a concert; it has been a living testament to what Christian education can achieve when teachers and students work together in the formation of disciples of Christ. Each performance was a missionary act, a declaration of faith, and evidence that Christian music educates, inspires, and evangelizes.”
Without a doubt, the festival left an indelible mark on all those present, reaffirming the power of music as an instrument of worship and an effective means of sharing the message of hope.
