Last Saturday, May 9th, the moving concert “Roses and Carnations” was held, an evangelistic initiative organized by Radio Sol 98.3 FM, under the direction of Lorraine Vázquez. The event, dedicated to Mother's and Father's Day, brought together more than 700 people for an evening filled with music, testimonies, and messages of hope centered on God.

The event focused on honoring the 46-year musical career of Maribel Soto, a renowned Christian singer whose life and ministry have impacted generations through Christian music.

It was an event to highlight God's love through music, demonstrating that art can be a powerful tool for evangelization. The program was inspired by the advice in the book *Evangelism*, which emphasizes that in a society saturated with distractions, it is necessary to use extraordinary methods to capture attention and present the truth clearly and relevantly:

“By extraordinary methods—In the cities of our day, where there are so many things that attract and please, people cannot be interested through ordinary efforts… They must make use of every means they can devise to highlight the truth clearly and distinctly.”

The evening featured a varied musical and audiovisual program, with the participation of renowned Christian artists. Among them were Kerysso with “Oh Happy Day,” Danny Pabón with “Stubborn Love,” and a special appearance by Luis Ruiz, along with the group Abba, performing “United.”

Maribel Soto also stood out with “Cuando Dices Amén” (When You Say Amen) and other special songs, such as “Gracias por ser quien soy” (Thank You for Being Who I Am), “Amor, Amor” (Love, Love), dedicated to mothers, “Se fue el dolor” (The Pain Is Gone), “A los pies del Nazareno” (At the Feet of the Nazarene), and the closing number, “Maravilloso” (Wonderful), with José Medina.

During the program, congratulatory videos and special messages from invited guests were shown, including Sarah Capeles, Junior Kelly Marchena, Lourdes Toledo, and Wison Torres, who sent words of affection and recognition to the honoree. In addition, a spiritual reflection was led by José Medina, who shared a message of faith and hope with the attendees.

One of the most significant moments was the recognition by the Honorable Mayor of San Juan, Miguel Romero Lugo, who presented a proclamation for Maribel Soto's career and ministerial contributions. Furthermore, the artist's brother, Emilio Soto, presented a moving tribute to her life and ministry.

Radio Sol 98.3 FM and the administration of the East Adventist Association, led by Pastor Rodolfo Cosme, paid special tribute to the singer, highlighting her spiritual and musical legacy, her dedication to ministry, and the impact she has had through Christian music in Puerto Rico and around the world, reaching diverse faith communities. Among those present was renowned chef Iván Clemente, a close friend of the honoree.

The "Roses and Carnations" concert reaffirmed Radio Sol 98.3 FM's commitment to continue using media, music, and the arts as tools to bring hope and spiritual restoration to the community, demonstrating that evangelism can reach lives in creative and profoundly meaningful ways.
